17 Nov Homemade Electrolyte Immunity Tea
After a week of sick kiddos, I thought I would share my tea recipe with you all. I make this tea and leave it on low for the day and fill cups to sip on throughout the day. I make a new pot or sometimes just add to it the next morning. This tea would also be great in labor or postpartum to help restore electrolytes and essential nutrients.
In a large stock pot with a lid, I pour in about 4 cups of water (for added benefit you could use bone broth instead, I’ve done both). Put heat to med-low or slow simmer.
1-2 whole citrus fruit (orange, grapefruit, or lemon) vitamin c and quinine
2 cinnamon sticks anti-inflamatory
2TB turm
2TB turmeric powder anti-inflammatory
1/3 cup honey (Manuka honey for added benefit added once on low heat or cooled antibiotic properties, glucose, and calories
1/2 tsp sea salt
Handful of foraged rose hips (optional) vitamin c
1 ginger root (optional)
Handful if foraged Red Raspberry Leaf (optional) female reproductive health
2 tsp if loose leaf organic green tea (optional) antioxidants
